Hi-Tech GPS Anti-Theft Device
|
| Business Detail: |
The Company, founded by motorcycle enthusiasts who themselves had been victims of motorcycle theft, has developed the most technically advanced anti-theft device presently on the market. It is compact enough for motorcycles, yet equally effective for construction equipment, cars, trucks and boats, or any vehicle that has a battery.
This anti-theft device has a full range of important features:
• Touch/Shock Sensor – Sends a text message to the owner’s cell phone and an alert to the owner’s transceiver if the motorcycle is touched or bumped.
• Geofence and Movement Sensor – Notifies the owner if his/her motorcycle has moved out of a specified area or has started to move above 2 mph.
• GPS and Alarm System – Notifies the owner and locates his/her motorcycle if a would-be thief moves it.
• Battery Sensor – Sends a text message to the owner’s cell phone and an alert to his/her transceiver if the battery is low or has been tampered with.
Customer acceptance has been demonstrated by early sales over the Internet and enthusiastic comments by users. One customer in particular whose motorcycle was stolen recovered it within 12 hours, along with another cycle stolen by the thieves the same night, guided by the GPS system and with the help of police and boasts about it on the web site.
There are millions of motorcycle owners in the U.S. and more around the world. The product is not limitd to motorcycles and yearns to be marketed to other vehicles: For example, in 2001, there were 1.6 million snowmobiles in the U.S; construction equipment is left unguarded (and sometimes stolen) overnight and on weekends at thousands of construction sites here and abroad. The Company has been approached and even negotiated sales to construction companies, but the unit costs and monthly costs were too high for mass sales for their vast convoys of equipment. A company with the capability to undertake wide distribution and thereby reduce the unit cost of the product and the cost of the monthly fees will find major profit opportunities with construction companies and the owners of many other vehicles with batteries in the U.S. and overseas.
It has become clear that the potential of the business is much greater than the “part-time web job” initially envisioned by its owner and CEO, who maintains a career in health care. He has, therefore, decided to seek a buyer who can bring the financial resources and full-time management to conduct a major market roll-out and fully achieve the potential of his important new product. |
