Competition:
The competition is not focused on the custom motorcycle market niche. While other Italian manufacturers (Ducati, Bimota, MV Agusta, Vyrus) are producing expensive "Limited Editions", no one is addressing the value for dollar calculation the consumer uses in the buying decision. Major Italian manufacturers are focused on the Japanese as their primary competition. A small, flexible custom motorcycle manufacturer would not register as competition for any of the major global motorcycle manufacturers.

There are no foreseeable barriers at this point in time.   A perpetual, global licensing agreement has been negotiated with the trademark owner.   We will have exclusive rights to the use of the trademark on all of the products we sell (motorcycles, accessories, apparel).

This project is focused to deliver a high quality and innovative product to a very specific niche of the motorcycling public.
This market is not being addressed by current Italian motorcycle manufacturers, but they realize this demand exists.   Market observation has shown that buyers of Italian motorcycles are much more likely to customize their vehicles than Japanese motorcycle buyers.   This company will offer our customers the ability to order a model of our making with a variety of custom components installed at the factory.   The marketing and promotional effort will be largely Internet based.   Sales and distribution will be direct to motorcycle retailers in the EU and through our distribution division in the United States.   Our production facility will be kept small and flexible in order to keep startup costs low.   Eastern European parts suppliers will be used to lower COGS while keeping quality high.   This business will build on a long history of successful Grand Prix racing of the marque.
Competitive Advantage:

Our target demographic is not the first time buyer nor the novice.   Our market niche is aimed at a customer who owns more than one motorcycle and has disposable income.   Our product will appeal to this demographic because of low production figures, very high build quality, styling, and technical innovation.   This market was addressed by Bimota in the past, but since their bankruptcy and restart, their technical innovation has disappeared.

Unique Characteristics:

We will offer the ability to order a factory-built motorcycle with a number of custom accessories installed.   Marketing and promotion will be largely Internet based.   Sales and distribution will be direct to motorcycle retailers in the EU and North America.   Quality and innovation will be incorporated in every model produced.   A previous history of racing success is associated with the marque.
